Outdoor Recreation

 

Mini Links Mini Golf: May–August

This is a fan-favourite for kids. Ice cream and mini-golf? They’ll be easily convinced.

 

Muskoseepi Park

Try a new adventure each week with your family. In the mood for exercise? Hiking, basketball, tennis, or pond fishing might fit the bill. Have young kids? They can skateboard or hit the playground or pool. Want to host an event? Book some space for lawn bowling and lunch!



Evergreen Park Events

 

Spring Spectacular Car Show and Swap Meet: April 29–May 1

For the gear heads: this is the 5th annual Spring Spectacular. Buckle up to see 150+ vehicles alongside the Celebrity Dinner, Awards Gala, and Live Auction. 

 

Grande Prairie Stompede: May 25–29

This marks the start of the pro rodeo and chuckwagon racing season. Come for the parade, competition, and tasty local food vendors.

 

The Horses At Evergreen Park: July 9–August 28

Let the horse races begin! July 9 kicks off the season, with the Alberta Derby on July 21 and Mr. Mike’s Paint The Park Purple – Race For The Cure rounding up the season on August 28.



Arts, Entertainment, and Education

 

Philip J. Curry Dinosaur Museum 

Near Grande Prairie, this 41,000 sq. ft dino museum is a must-see. Your kids will love the exhibits, hands-on fossil prep lab, and events—plus, a restaurant and gift shop. 

 

Reel Shorts Film Festival: April 26–May 8 

Catch local and global talent at this annual short film festival known for entertaining and educating audiences. You can support the filmmaking community via digital or in-person screenings this year.

 

The Centre for Creative Arts

Have kids who love the arts? This centre offers classes, workshops, summer camps, and other special events. Mediums your kids can explore: ceramics, drawing, painting, sculpture, fibre work, dance, and more.
